That’s why Rafiki Coalition is bringing you the second annual Reset Saturday! \nThis year’s theme is “How are the Children? Perinatal Health\, Birth Equity\, and Community Solutions.” The focus is on supporting mothers who are pregnant or have children up to three years old and also uplifting the community that supports these mothers to ensure their children’s wellbeing. If the community is strong\, the children will be too. \nAmong African tribes\, the Maasai were considered the most fearsome\, and yet Maasai warriors would greet each other by saying “Kasserian Ingera\,” meaning “And how are the children?” and respond by saying “All the children are well.” This greeting highlights the cultural significance of protecting children’s welfare and this idea is the driving force behind this year’s Reset Saturday. \nThe main attraction for Reset Saturday is a panel discussion entitled: Reclaiming the Perinatal Experience: Healing\, Joy\, and Community Care. This panel is designed to give mothers the knowledge necessary to have a positive birthing experience before\, during\, and shortly after their child is born. Her practice specializes in Ayurvedic constitutional assessment through pulse diagnosis\, bridging traditional Ayurvedic diagnostics with Western functional medicine to address complex multi-system imbalances. \nDeana’s approach combines therapeutic nutrition\, clinical herbalism\, and hands-on bodywork modalities\, including Ayurvedic Lymphatic Drainage\, Pancha Karma therapeutics\, and somatic manual therapies. She works with clients experiencing hormonal dysfunction\, digestive imbalances\, nervous system depletion\, metabolic dysregulation\, and chronic conditions requiring comprehensive\, multi-phase treatment protocols. \nHer practice philosophy follows a “food first\, herbs second\, supplements third” framework\, emphasizing sustainable interventions that clients can integrate into daily life. If so\, join our mom’s wellness group. \nOur Black Mamas’ Wellness Group is a FREE weekly support group that provides Black mothers with a nurturing\, caring\, supportive circle of mothers\, mental health education\, and therapeutic activities. \nThis program combines fellowship and mental health support and is dedicated to helping expecting\, new\, and experienced moms navigate the joys and challenges of parenting. \nThe group aims to help mothers prioritize their well-being on the beautiful journey of motherhood and learn how to support their children’s mental health as well. \nThis group is led by Pia Odom\, Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #150656. \nSpace is Limited.
